Woman Arrested After Girlfriend’s Facebook Post About Choking Her

hIR9l.AuSt.6A woman’s post on Facebook over the weekend that her girlfriend allegedly choked her ended with police arresting the girlfriend after investigating the accusation, according to Rock Hill police.

A police report shows an anonymous tip was called into police Saturday night regarding the incident. The caller told officers they were worried about the victim’s well-being after posting about her girlfriend, Lauren Caitlin Timberlake, 26, choking her earlier that evening.

Police say when they arrived at the woman’s apartment, located near Celanese Road, the girlfriend came to the door. Officers saw a microwave on the floor and broken glass all over the kitchen floor, the incident report shows.

Police found the victim in a bedroom in the apartment. The victim told authorities there Timberlake had injured her by choking and pushing her, which caused her to fall into a bed frame edge, according to the report.

The victim’s nose had dried blood on it, her face was cut, and she had a swollen left eye that was starting to turn back and had red marks on her neck that appeared to be from choking, police said.

Timberlake told the officers the women had been drinking and a fight began, saying her girlfriend had thrown things around the home. Timberlake claimed she was hit, but no injuries were visible, the report said. The woman allegedly admitted she had pushed the victim but denied causing the injuries.

There was another person in the apartment during the incident Saturday night who told police the couple had been arguing and the victim did start throwing items, according to police. The victim was then choked by Timberlake for around 30 seconds, the police report’s witness statement said.

Timberlake was charge with assault and battery of a high and aggravated nature at Rock Hill city jail, where she was taken.

According to police, the victim was offered medical help and refused.
