A woman who called to report an overdose to police at a home in Lake Norman, near Mooresville, was then arrested for heroin that was found in her purse.
Morgan Taylor Nicholson, 22, of Salisbury, told responding police that she and the victim had overdosed while doing heroin and cocaine at the home in the 200 block of Canvasback Road, according to Iredell County Sheriff Darren Campbell.
Deputies obtained a search warrant for the home while investigating and found large amounts of heroin and cocaine, Campbell said.
Nicholson has been charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a schedule one controlled substance. She is jailed on a $3,5000 bail.
The name of the victim has not been released.
