STATESVILLE, N.C. — A woman was arrested in connection with a sexual assault of a 10-year-old girl, according to the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office.
The report was made Oct. 16. The child was interviewed at the Dove House Child Advocacy Center. The victim was able to describe the sexual assault and named a suspect.
During the investigation,Detective Sgt. Amy Dyson interviewed family members and witnesses.
Adinah Chanel Morrison, 25, of Statesville, was charged with two felony counts of first degree sexual offense with a child.
Morrison was taken into custody Wednesday and was placed in the Iredell County Detention Center under a $30,000 secured bond.
