UPDATE: Police have arrested 27-year old Shaun Paul Splain (R) and charged him for the murder of Eleanor Parish. Parish was found slain in her mobile home last December.
After killing Ms. Parish, Shaun Splain fled from Charlotte to Ruskin, Florida. CMPD issued an arrest warrant earlier this month and authorities in Hillsborough County, Florida arrested Splain without incident. He was extradited to Charlotte and arrived at the Mecklenburg County Jail on Tuesday.
12/15/2007:
A 70-year old woman was found dead early this morning in her mobile home, located on Hovis Rd. Police say a neighbor called them after she hadn’t seen nor heard from her elderly neighbor.
Police arrived and found Eleanor Jannette Parrish deceased. The death is being investigated as a homicide but police did not provide any details as to the cause of her death.
Homicide detectives were called to the scene and began canvassing the neighborhood for the suspect and questioning neighbors. The crime lab responded to collect evidence from the crime scene.
