Woman Leaves Children Alone To Go To Club

Colleen Louise PellettiereA Fort Mill woman is being charged with two counts of Unlawful Neglect of Children after her toddler son was found wandering around an apartment complex parking lot.

Saturday night around 10pm deputies with the York County Sheriff’s Office were called out to the Palmetto Place Apartments after a 2 year old was seen in the parking lot alone. According to police, a woman and her boyfriend saw the little boy and asked him where he lived. The boy was wearing a shirt and pajama pants with no shoes or socks. When the couple took him back to his unlocked apartment, they also found a 4 month old girl in a crib.

When police arrived, they searched the home and found it empty. Officers made contact with the mother- 26 year old Colleen Louise Pellettiere, who told officers she was on her way back home. Pellettier arrived home more than an hour after deputies had arrived. When police began questioning her they noticed a black stamp mark on her hand that resembled the ones that are used to get into clubs and bars. The officers questioned the woman on why she left her children at home alone, but she never could explain.

DSS came to the home and took the children, who are now staying with a foster family in Lake Wylie. The father of the two children currently has a pending case with NC’s Children’s Protective Services and it not allowed to see the children unsupervised.
