ROCK HILL, S.C.  — Police say a Rock Hill woman stabbed the father of her child Tuesday afternoon, sending him to a Charlotte hospital with wounds to his legs and arms.

Officers were called to a Pebble Road home at about 2 p.m. after receiving calls about a stabbing.  When they arrived, they found a man, 33, standing in a neighbor’s yard, holding a towel to his stomach, according to a Rock Hill police report.  Rosie Jones, 41, stood in the front yard holding a small child and told police the man had mental issues and stabbed himself.

The man suffered from a stab wounds to his left hand, upper left arm, left leg and stomach, police said. The man told police Jones came home, took his phone away and began arguing with him about another woman.

He claimed she grabbed a steak knife and began attacking him, the report states. The man ran outside and asked a neighbor to use her phone, but Jones told the witness not to give the man her phone.

The witness said she saw Jones chase the man with the knife in hand, the report states.  Jones later said the man first attacked her but called his probation officer instead of calling police.

Police said Jones was the primary aggressor and arrested her, charging her with criminal domestic violence of high and aggravated nature, the report states.  The man was taken to Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte.

Jones was released from jail Wednesday morning on a $10,000 bond.
