Woman Tries to Cash Checks Stolen in Charlotte Armed Robbery

CIC Default Crime ReportPolice have accused a Kings Mountain woman of cashing checks that were stolen from a restaurant armed robbery.

Angelica Jaquita Hunter, 25, of Thompson Drive in Kings Mountain, is charged with two felonies related to cashing the checks.

The robbery occurred in Charlotte at the Mama Ricotta Restaurant on South Kings Drive on April 1.

Police said two police robbed two of the restaurant’s employee just before midnight, stealing over $1,000 cash and taking a gray lock box with checks inside, the police report said.

Hunter forged two checks from the restaurant and wrote them to herself. She then cashed them at a bank in the area, police said.

Hunter is charged with uttering a forged instrument and forgery of instrument. She was released on a bond set at $2,500.
