York County Corrections Officer Arrested For Selling Drugs

YORK COUNTY, S.C. — The York County Sheriff’s Office says an off-duty corrections officer was arrested for selling Alprazolam, or generic Xanax.

Last Friday, officers with York County Multi-Jurisdictional Drug Enforcement Unit arrested 30-year-old John Thomas Strait, a 10-year veteran with the York County Sheriff’s Office Detention Center.

Strait is accused of selling Alprazolam, generic Xanax, while off duty. He was arrested in the 900 block of South Cherry Road in Rock Hill.

Strait is charged with distribution of Alprazolam and distribution of Alprazolam in the proximity of a park. He’s since posted a $5000 bond.
